About this event

The ASID Texas Chapter Fort Worth Design Community invites you to our May event hosted by ASID Industry Partner Studio Cufflink, the art gallery owned by Doug Gault and Joey Luong.

First enjoy light bites and refreshments while being treated to a solo art exhibition of original works on canvas by artist Adam Fung titled possible magic.

Then learn important and practical information about design for aging in place with the following presentation by Glen Boudreaux, ASID, RID, IDS, CCT, RIM, BVCC of Boudreaux Associates.

Accessibility for the Luxury Market, Designing With Compassion

[HSW | Session will count as a CEPH for continuing education requirements for Texas Registered Interior Designers and can be self-reported as a CEU to IDCEC.]

In this seminar, we will look at Universal Design and Accessibility as it relates to aging in place. We will look at techniques for approaching a client's limitations with compassion, not sympathy. Gain insight into ways to approach barrier-free design from a different point of view and direction. Designing with Compassion can change how clients perceive you by approaching the design process in a different way and have them know, like and trust you more. Join me and let’s design with compassion.

[Parking: On and off street parking is available along St Louis Avenue and in a flat lot across the street from Studio Cufflink.]

Organized by

The Fort Worth Design Community is one of four design communities that make up the ASID Texas Chapter, which is part of the larger American Society of Interior Designers [ASID], a community of people – designers, industry representatives, educators and students – committed to interior design. Through education, knowledge sharing and advocacy, the Society strives to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively impact and change people’s lives. Of the Society’s 24,000 Practitioners, 20% practice Residential design, 30% practice Commercial design, and 50% practice both. The ASID Texas Chapter represents 1,400+ Practitioner, Educator, Student and Industry Representative members throughout the state of Texas excluding the greater Houston area, which is covered by the ASID Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. Since the Texas Chapter is quite large both in membership and in geographic expanse, most of the programming throughout the year takes place in the Design CommunitiesAustin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio. Our members work in both the residential and commercial fields, either as sole proprietors or as part of small or large firms. Within the state and around the world, they provide valuable services and useful products to their clients. Our members strive to improve the quality of life for all of their clients through the creation of aesthetically pleasing, thoughtful design that takes into account the health, safety and welfare of the public.
